7/28/2010 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates shared his personal experiences and passion for Boy Scouting July 28 with tens of thousands of Scouts and their families gathered for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Boy Scouts of America. "Scouting has been a big part of my life and my family's life," Secretary Gates told an estimated crowd of 45,000 gathered on 12,000 acres on Fort A.P. Hill, Va., as part of the annual National Scout Jamboree.
Secretary Gates, an Eagle Scout who has served on the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts and is past president of the National Eagle Scout Association, shared his experiences growing up as a Boy Scout, earning scouting's top rank 52 years ago, and being involved in his son's Boy Scout troop. Welcome to T134.org. There's not much to see yet, but we're working hard to make T134.org a central resource for the Troop.
In the near future expect to find a calendar, discussion forums, photo galleries, links to helpful resources, and private access to mailing lists, the roster, and other Troop documentation.
The best parts of T134.org will be powered by the boys (under the supervision of their parents) and the Troop leaders.

T134.org needs help with content and testing. We need help entering events, uploading photos, and beta testing the forums, gallery and calendar.
Is there a specific feature you'd like to see here? Let us know! Is there something you'd like to share with the Troop? We need help writing articles, advice, and HOW TO's for the younger scouts and new leaders. Committee members: would you like send out a request for help with an event? Merit Badge councilors: would you like a page with links, check lists or other documents to help prepare the scouts? |
